MP9
Hi guys. I found 2# of imr 7625. I'm still new to reloading and have used only titegroup 3.0 gr with the 147gr bayou bullets down here in FL. it make power factor without issue. but I dont have more TG and just was able to grab 7625. reading in the forum I still dont get clear how many grains should I use. I've found from 3.2 to 3.7. It is mostly for my glock 34. 1.125 / 1.130 OAL. WSP, mixed brass. any advice? thanks
xrayfk05
I went with 3.7 grain for a PF of 132 average under a 145 grain plated bullet. (LOS) 1.15'ish OAL. Anything under 3.7 grain got me widely varying speeds, loading for a shorter OAL my fix that.
Smitty79
I developed a load for the Bayou 147 FP with 3.7 gn 7625 at 1.13 OAL and made 134 or 135 PF, depending on head stamp, out of a CZ85B. I used CCI SPP. For a Glock 34, I think you can knock off a grain. Of course you need to start lower and work up with a chrono to verify my load works for you safely. dave33
3.6 gr of 7625 makes 137 PF under a 147gr Blue Bullet out of my XDM 5.25 at 1.135 OAL. If I were you I would start at 3.4 or 3.5 gr and work up a tenth at a time. 7625 for me works more consistently on the higher end of load data but even then I don't get super low SD's. It does shoot clean, soft, and accurate though.
Red Ryder
I agree. 3.5 to 3.6 will be real close.
bowenbuilt
7625 is a great powder for 9mm. Keeping it slightly above 130 will make it clean and consistent. It's a shame they are discontinuing it. Edited January 10, 2015 by bowenbuilt
MP9
Thanks for the help. I did chrono some rounds with 3.2 and 3.3gr IMR 7625 (147gr bayou bullets, 1.12 OAL, mixed brass). down in FL. with 3.2gr it was around 835 to 850, below. with 3.3gr it was 870-880. still kind of close to the limit. I may try 3.4gr. I would like to be on 890-900 I thought I was going to feel less recoil than using titegroup but it was about the same(for me) 3.5 or 3.6 will much for me.
