bishop414
Was sorting a bucket of brass this week and getting it tumbled. It appears some blazer aluminum was in the bucket along with some moisture and I now have some brass with tarnish marks. These marks did not come off with some dry tumbling, or even scratching with a fingernail. Looking for you thoughts. Is it safe to load? Will it gum up or damage my dies? Should it just go in the scrap bin?
ToddKS
I would discard anything that looks like the case on the left.
GrumpyOne
How much will it save cost wise when that one weak case lets loose in the gun? Toss that junk...it's not worth even the time to think about saving it.
Reshoot
The one on the left is more than just tarnished. I'd never shoot it.
Youngeyes
Even if it were safe (which it's not) I wouldn't put that thing in my nice gun.
glenr
That corrosion is from being wet for a while and reacting with the powder residue. Not the aluminum casing.I'd toss em! Edited December 19, 2014 by glenr
