3gunyotehtr
I noticed that I am getting a few pierced primers with the Apex firing pin. This doesn't happen with the factory pin and it does it with extremely light loads too. Both the 929 and V-comp. Is this normal? Thanks!

Tom E
The Apex competition pin has a "pointy" tapered tip. It's meant to be be run with a reduced power mainspring. Using the pin with a full power mainspring can result in pierced primers. If you're going to use a full power mainspring use the XP firing pin, it has a hemispherical tip. AzShooter
If you are getting a hole in the primer you load is too light. Up your load. You will get better accuracy and the problem will stop Steven Bressan Icore AZ45 USPSA
seanc
what tom said. I can definitely see the comp pin poking through a federal primer if you are running heaving spring weight. I have 3 guns with comp pins in them and never had a problem.
