norbyam22
Thinking of adding an optic to a sp01. don't want to mount to slide, So... mount to frame? or use an under rail device? I see czc has some, but the frame mounted one looks like it is only for the rts. The um3 tactical one, little bit more material than I want on bottom... Any input? drilling holes into the frame of the sp01... pretty permanent...

Big Dog Howie
I have a 90 degree Quinn mount I used on my CZ 75 open gun using a c more but have since switched to the cheely mount that we cut down and a RTS I still have the Quinn pm me .you will have to have holes machined but that is the only way for a stable mount otherwise you can go the dove tail mount on the slide
eerw
If you want to dedicate a gun to the cause, I would go frame mounted. better placement on the gun for the dot and lower to the bore. if you dont want to alter the frame, a dovetail mount works pretty good or the new mount from UM Tactical is pretty cool. The frame mounted RTS mount should also work with the STS dot too. Edited September 8, 2014 by eerw
