vluc
A speed bump is not a legal modification for SSP. No, it is a visible external modification therefore would not be legal. Sincerely, Sandra Tumbleson IDPA Staff -----Original Message----- From: XXXXXXXXXX Sent: Tuesday, January 18, 2005 10:26 AM To: info@idpa.com Subject: modification question SSP permitted modifications. #4 Internal action work may be used to enhance trigger pull as long as safety is maintained (no visible external miodifications allowed). Is an external speed bump permitted as a modification? As I read this, the answer is no. Other shooters tell me that it is. Please clarify with an all-inclusive answer. Is it yes or no in SSP? vluc
any trigger with an external mod. I had a semi-debate on this a while back at SIGForum with some folks who were then on the SIG team. They've since left SIGarms to shoot for another mfg, but the debate centered on using an added bump to either a beretta or SIG trigger. All my emails to idpa hq went unanswered until now, when I re-submitted the question in light of the request for those with questions on the new rule book. Now I have a definitive answer, but they are gone....ah well, such is life!
BILLG
I just got a completely different answer to an e-mail I sent.It stated that the speed bump was indeed a legal modification in SSP,by the very same Sandra. BillG
Carlos
A good way around this ruling is an SSP gun that comes with an overtravel stop in the trigger as a factory part; such a gun is the CZ-85 Combat.
