harryorwell
I've been reading on the varoius CZ posts on this subject but I thought I would make sure with the CZ fateful...does a Shadow Target have the extended filing pin that I read about? I had a few light strikes at the range today and the RO was able to fire those rounds through his H&K. Let me know if the extended pin is standard on the ST and how to tell. Thx in advance. justaute
Extended firing pin is ~2.49" to 2.50". Regular firing pin is ~2.46" to 2.47". http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=139857
SpankYa
If this is a Shadow Target Custom built by CZ Custom, then it likely has the extended firing pin since they install that as part of the process. Maybe an old mainspring?
basman
When you take the firing pin out to measure, give the Firing Pin channel a cleaning.
alma
I think the extended firing pin has been added to the Shadow builds in the last year or so. Greater chance that you have it if the gun is newer.
thompsoncustom
I would polish the channel with some very fine grit like mother mag polish. Also even if it has an extended firing pin I would switch to the CGW firing pin its longer and comes with a reduced spring designed for it. harryorwell
Pulled the pin and it measures 2.5 so it's already an extended version. Gun was pretty dirty...I ran about 200 round through it when I had the issue. I only had 2 failures out of the 200. Still 2 too many for me...I'll give it a good once over in the channel and see what happens.
