MoonJeong
I wanted to get a backup upper for my czechmate.... Really only need a second slide since it comes with two barrels. Where can I get one and at what price?
Feralshooter
Sounds like a great way to ensure that when something breaks, it will be in the frame half. (If Murphy treats you like he does me). Sorry I have nothing useful to add. Can I ask the purpose of a spare upper? Not criticizing, just want to understand the benefit.
Czhase
I have heard that CZ Custom gets TS uppers in from time to time, they may be able to modify one to Czhechmate specs.

The stock slide is not that bad, but there can be a competitive advantage given the slide is actually lighter than an equal 1911 slide. Besides. They seem hard to come by so having a second one will reduce down time...
kneelingatlas
Might be easier to use an SP01 slide and bull barrel comp like I do.

Don't forget to post porn, err, I mean pics of the milled slide when you're done.

kneelingatlas
I use an SP01 slide with a TS barrel and a small frame Witness three port comp (I've opened up the first port): But this weekend I'll be working on this little project: I have a Czechmate comp I'm going to fit to a Shadow Target SA
tortuga
I believe a 9MM or .40 SA slide has the same profile, if you don't need the shadow sight cuts or care about the FPB. This is interesting - http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=62878.0 A P-01 slide could make for a compact sight tracker or comped upper. kneelingatlas
I believe a 9MM or .40 SA slide has the same profile The 9mm SA slide has a tapered muzzle and a 12.75mm OD barrel like the 75B in 9mm (unlike the 14mm OD barrels of the 9mm Shadows and SP01s) if you don't need the shadow sight cuts or care about the FPB I already swapped the Shadow Target Upper onto my SP01 frame and will be using the SP01 slide for my Small Frame Czechmate This is interesting - http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=62878.0 A P-01 slide could make for a compact sight tracker or comped upper. The P01 barrel is a one lug 12.75" barrel; I learned from the compact Witness upper you gave me that one lug just isn't enough for 9Major , I put the barrel out to greener pastures, but I do plan to use the slide for a compact sight tracker like you're talking about. I ended up getting a second compact upper off EBay which turned out to use a two lug barrel, so the Tanfo Shorty Open is alive and well!
alma
kneelingatlas, Looks like you made that TS frame cut. Looks nice! Since you are all swapping slides will my TS 9mm upper run on my SP01 Shadow?
Czhase
You can put TS upper on an SP 01 but it's not drop in, some fitting is required.
trgt
Why can't THIS be a show on discovery I can watch?? I'd much rather watch a film crews ping pong between all these fun CZ experiments, what goes on and how they turn out, instead of things like Gold Mining :-) Milling machine with CZ slide getting worked - YES D9 tractor pushing dirt - NO

kneelingatlas
If you want the skinny on fitting a TS upper to a standard frame, look no further than Tortuga here! He did a TS slide on a SA frame.
