danjordan78
Have a Kimber 1911. After it goes to slide lock or you lock it open, the slide will not go forward without using the slide release. You can not pull on the slide and let it go to release it. I have tried polishing the slide lock face and the detent plunger, didn't help. The spring for the plunger seems a little tight but maybe that doesn't matter. Any ideas? It's caught me in a couple of matches trying to reload since all of my other guns release properly. 2MoreChains
Are you running a shok-buff in your gun?

addicted
Remove the shock buff and all will be right again.
danjordan78
I guess it wasn't designed with one so doesn't really need it. I've always had one in there so don't know the difference. Is there much felt recoil difference? I guess if it wasn't designed with one don't have to worry about it protecting it from getting beaten up. guns_and_labs
Is there much felt recoil difference? Not that I've noticed.
addicted
Not much. If your shooting full power defensive stuff you will feel a difference but the gun will be fine.

danjordan78
All better! Thanks everyone.
SSGJohnV
If it happens in the future chek your recoil spring. I made the mistake of buying a recoil spring from a non-Wolff or ISMI company and it would do the same thing. Changed to a Wolff spring and good to go. rack&roll
Lose the shok-buff...they are worthless.
Kratos
Same experience with my Kimber TLE. Decided not to put shock buff on my single stack.
