Running a comp with offset iron sights

I am considering putting a comp on my 3gun AR. I run a scope and 45 degree offset iron sights and was wondering if the comp would have to be installed to line up with the scope or the irons or someone inbetween? Anyone ever have to address this issue before?

I don't think it is a significant issue in actual application.

I would time it with the optic. I don't think it will make much of a difference with the irons because you will be using them at closer ranges.

Set it up for the optic. It makes little difference and that difference is even more mitigated by the fact when your using the off set sights the targets are close and muzzle jump is going to be even less of an issue.

I shoot open with a Burris MTAC and a FastFire mounted at 45 degrees.

Initially ran my gun with the comp clocked to about 1 o'clock. A bit later I moved it to 12 o'clock. Really did not notice much difference.

I run offset irons but I only use them when my glass is at 6X and there isn't time to adjust the scope back down to 1X before hosing close stuff. My point is you will use your scope on 1X a lot more than you will use your offsets so time the comp for the scope.

Set your gun up for its most common use otherwise you'll be screwed more often than not. Think about it in terms of setting up for long range. Long range shots are pretty infrequent, which is why if you went with just 6x all the time to be ready for those few shots, you'd have a pretty rough time 90% of the match.
