It only takes 13 million people buying just 1,000 per year to buy it all up. And there are probably more than 13 million people in the US trying to buy .22 ammo. I'm lucky to live 10 minutes from there so I don't have to pay shipping. I've bought my 3 box limit twice a week for the last month or so. It's the Federal AutoMatch 325rd boxes for $16.79.
