Sarge
Geez, that is a huge difference. I can see a fraction of a difference from lot to lot but wow.

Mat Price
I hope it's slow. Lot 2219 was stupid slow went from 8.6 to 9.4 To make 173 As long as it's consistently slow I'm good with it

Mat Price
ok guys back fro mthe range I loaded up some of my old auto comp I had left over as a control 9mm Major trubor with 3 holes 7.6 grains of auto comp ( old Notes says 175 pf This was before the 3 popple holes) 124 JHP PD 1.165 Tula SRP avg 1374 1371 1368 h 1393 1379 1371 l 1359 1360 1365 es 24 19 6 SD 8 6 pf 170 170 169 these numbers are right on the money so that validates my chrony and scale ect so I then run several loads of hs 6 lot 2223 8.8 grains HS6 Lot 2223 124 JHP PD 1.165 Tsrp Avg 1341 Hi 1375 Lo 1316 ES 59 SD 23 PF 166 9.0 grains HS6 lot 2223 124 JHP PD 1.165 tsrp avg 1372 1399 1384 HI 1407 1454 1412 lo 1294 1367 1371 es 113 87 41 pf 170 173 171 noticeable flattening of primer and pressure signs 9.3 hs6 2223 121 IFP MG 1.165 tsrp 1440 1403 1428 1479 1440 1439 53 1369 1423 18 71 16 174 169 172 again major pressure signs soooo this might still work for you guys with no holes ect but if you have alot of holes or big comps you may want to be real careful.... I am surprised no has posted anything like this yet... Edited January 12, 2014 by Mat Price
kosh79
I'm used lot 2222 and had to go upto to 9.6gr with a 115 at 1.1.65 about 1509 avg. that load is my go to load, felt good no pressure signs and ran flat for me but I have no holes in my trubor Now recently I am running lot 2224 same load tomorow I am going to take it and do some chrono runs see what's up I'm hearing more and more about hs6 being way to different lot to lot
Mat Price
With lot 2219 I had to go fron 8.6 to 9.4 grains with a 124 to make 173 power factor. With lot 2223 I had to go to 9.0 grains with a 124 and started seeing some pressure. Nothing bad. It did feel good ect. Just be careful. I don't mind the extra powder as long as it is constantly slow in the lot.
Grump
Not seeing any pressure http://rs760.pbsrc.com/albums/xx249/mdp75/Mobile%20Uploads/20140111_115609.jpg~320x480?t=1389463118 Yeah, I've seen factory ammo square up the radius on primers more than those loads. You sure you want to have those other pics-shipping and other information, posted publicly??? Even considering certain governmental databases, I wouldn't. I'm even skittish about sending them by e-mail any more.

kosh79
Well today I got out with to check it and 9.6gr of the 2224 lot seems right around normal it is a touch hotter but it's avg right around 1517 fps 115 jhp seated 1.165 srp now the primers were a touch flat but nothing I'm too overly afraid there wasn't any kind of deformation and the strikes look good I think I'm just getting lucky with lot# and my barrel is notoriously slow
kosh79
On a side note I am going to give 3n38 a go I just ordered 4lbs which I'm going to use in the new open gun might as well give it a go in the 9 as well
EkuJustice
I have used 2219 and was getting 174pf with a 124 Cmj at 1.17 and 8.2 grains I am also getting the same with 115 jhp at 1.16 and 8.8. Your Barrel must be pretty slow as I have 2 holes on mine Edited January 20, 2014 by EkuJustice
Mat Price
elk thats kinda concerning. with lot 2219 I was up to 9.4 grains with a 124 PD jhp to make 173- 175 pf I would say maybe my bbl (which is notoriously slow )but not with my autocomp load chronny right where it should.. that makes me wonder if there is a bunch of variance even in the same lot. EkuJustice
Your barrel must be very slow as your using quite a bit more powder than I did across the board with both hs6 and autocomp
