Dillon 650 powder drop belling does not line up.

Help. The Powder drop does not line up and insert smoothly at station 2. This results in damaged cases. Any suggestions are welcome.

Are you sure its the correct caliber die? And everything is seated correctly?

Does everything else line up? Make sure the head is all the way in the machine and the pins are in place. Pictures would help also.

I see you are in St. Louis. I am out of town until Sunday night, but I could come check it out for you when I get back in town.

I have experience with 550's and 1050's, but the powder drop/belling is the same in all of them basically.

1. The Powder die is correct and the other stations line up perfectly.

Have all stations loaded then loosen the powder die. Raise the ram. When the case is fully inserted into the die retighten. Might help.

Just talked to him on the phone. This is a new powder die on a new 650. He is going to try swapping another powder die from his other press(another 650) to check it to see if the die is bad. Im thinking the inside of the die could be machined off center or at an angle. Otherwise possibly the tool head is not machined correctly. He said every other station lines up correctly.

Have you comfirmed that your using the proper locating pins for the caliper your loading?
