Ed F
Looks like we might be moving to Honolulu this coming fall. And I am looking for information about USPSA or IDPA type competition there. 1. I guess I should bring nothing but 10 rounds magazines with me right? 2. I was wondering about reloading 9mm there, what is it like to get components? 3. Is there 3 gun on the island? 4. Also any another pertinent things I might need to know would be helpful. Thanks Ed
HI5-O
Check out the guys over at Kokohead. Go to Mid Pacific Pistol League (mppl.net) and check their schedule and there are two more groups HPS (Hawaii Practical Shooters) and Rhat Rhat Boyz. It's easier to get stuff like powder and primers on Oahu than the outer islands and buy your bullets on-line using USPS flat rate shipping. There are some multi-gun matches but not like on the mainland. You have to register your guns (not magazines) at the police station when you/it gets here. When registering your gun(s), I would leave the mags at home.
Ed F
Okay thanks for the information. So should I leave my hi cap magazines state side or is it like Maryland where you can bring hi cap mags into the state you just can buy them there? rishii
High cap pistol mags are illegal here, anything over 10 rounds Misdemeanor for possession, class C felony if inserted into a handgun You can bring high cap mags provided they are modified to only hold 10 round and are not readily restorable to hold more, what ever that means Like HI50 said, register the guns, leave the mags at home

Ed F
Do people tend to sell their 10 round mags when heading back to the mainland? I was mainly looking for glock and pmags or am best to grab what I need before I leave the mainland?
HI5-O
I don't know, most people never left here. Get what you can before you get here, most places here are higher priced than there (mainland).

rishii
Ar's are ok No NFA, no assault pistols (ar,ak,10-22, hk sp89, type pistols) Same thing, rifles and shotguns must be registered with the county police, again leave the mags at home I would find 10 round factory glock mags before you move Pmags are available at most gun stores here
