rboyes
I've been happy with my PRI carbon fiber handguard.
michael1778
CarbonArms makes a CF tube for DPMS pattern guns. I've had the AR15 version, myself. Apex GatorGrip looks nice.
shooter545
Lancer Systems makes a nice CF one. I have one on my .260 Rem rifle.
ERIC
I love the 15" PRI I have on my AR and Lancer makes a really nice one but their 308 versions have a larger diameter than their AR version. Because of that, I went with JP for my 308. They have a brilliant offset mounting system that allows it to use the same tube they use for their AR models. spd522
I have a JP on my DPMS and like it . But when AP releases their carbon fiber model, I will probably go to it, just to save weight. Craig
CraigS.
What ever you chose make sure it is vented ! those 308's generate plenty of heat.
carbon9
I have the Carbon Arms, get the heat shield with it and you are good to go. Never to hot from running a stage. Only from leaving it exposed to the Arizona summer sun for too long. I have a JP on an Ar-15 and love it but I still bought 3 of the Carbon Arms handguards. One in .223 and 2 in .308. slemmo
I would say it depends on the lenght/weight of your barrel, and weight of stock. A super light carbon fiber handguard will balance the rifle differently than a metal handguard weighing twice as much and you need to find what suits your style of shooting best.
