tires2burn
I loaded some 380 range brass and ran into a snag. I always sort the brass before loading and pull out the longer 9mm cases. I have run into a few cases that are stamped 9mm but have the same specs as a 380. What's the deal on this? Brassaholic13
Most likely 9mm Kurz made in a country that identifies .380 as 9mm Kurtz or 9mm short. All the same round, just different names. Edited August 14, 2013 by Brassaholic13
SlowShooter
I have seen this also. Aside from the case length, check the extractor rim. A .380 and 9mm have different extractor groves: when viewed from the side a 9mm has a straight notch like a 40-cal but a .380 has an angled notch like a .45acp. I've seen the cases that are short like a .380 but extractor grove is wrong (it is like a 9mm). S&B brass, I think. Another thing to watch-out for is brass 9x18 Makarov cases, rare to see in brass but I have seen one or two mixed with .380 cases occasionally. felt
Was it a 9mm Br .C. case?
Yagi
Isn't that 9mm Br .C. case does not have the primer flash hole in the middle??? not sure. but if it is you will not be able to load it anyway.... you will just break your decapping pin...lol Edited August 15, 2013 by Yagi
