Home Made GoPro Pole Mount

Recommended Posts

I figured I would post this up.

This is how I made a GoPro Pole mount. I searched Ebay for one and they were like $60.00 and being shipped from China.

So I said the He!! with that! I watched some Youtube videos on how to make one.

This is what I came up with. (Just built it today!)

I went to Walmart (looked for ammo FIRST!) Went to the automotive section found a retractable Squeegee For $4.95

The pole is made out of aluminum and has a nice handle with a hole for a lanyard.

Some bolts and nuts #8-32x1-1/4 in

(#8-32x31.7mm) $.97

And a Grab Bag Parts kit for the GoPro camera. $20.00+-

I unscrewed the squeegee and cut off the plastic end piece

I then decided what piece from the GoPro parts kit to use. I tried to fit it in the end of the tube but it was too tight.

so I had to trim off the edges with a Dremel to make it fit nice.

I then used a drill (actually used my dremel) To drill a hole in the tube to match the hole on the GoPro mount

Then used one of the bolts and nuts to bolt the mount on

I then cut the excess off

I then added a hand lanyard made out of 550 paracord. Also made a lanyard for the camera by drilling another hole in the tube and running the

lanyard that came in the parts kit through it and attatched it to the cameras locking lever.

So total cost was around $28.00

I made it mainly due to the fact that the camera has no handle.
