wanttolearn
Hi, as you can tell i'm pretty new to a lot of this but trying to learn. I purchased a used 1911with a c-more serendipity optic on it. The dot is not a fine round fixed central dot but rather is oblong and tends to dance/jiggle a good bit. Is this common for this type of site or does this reflect a defective module? thanks
Sarge
You mean it moves around without firing the gun? If thats the case that's not normal. It will move around quite a bit when the gun is fired though. As for being oblong shaped, try turning the brightness down.
wanttolearn
yes, without firing the pistol it jiggles similar to a flame flickering, it doesn't go on or off, just flickers. it otherwise holds its settings reliably.
Flatland Shooter
yes, without firing the pistol it jiggles similar to a flame flickering, it doesn't go on or off, just flickers. it otherwise holds its settings reliably. Maybe not in the module but it is somewhere in the electronics. Could you replace the module and see if that helps? Get one a size larger or smaller so you can "experiment" to find what dot size you will prefer. Some of us have complete collections of modules. At least one in each size available. wanttolearn
i don't own any other modules, i guess i wanted to see if this was abnormal. is the dot on your cmore a nice round fixed (non flickering) dot?
1911Prof
While the cmore is on, push on the switch and see if that makes it worse. If so it could be a loose solder joint resulting in "blinky" cmore
Sarge
Yes the dot should be more or less a small round dot that does not move, jiggle or anything. Ask around the matches in your area, somebody probably has a module in their bag for you to try out
wanttolearn
thanks everyone, tried pushing on the dot and on the module, no change. its the weekend, i'll try on Mon to see if i can contact someone at c-more as well.
EkuJustice
It should be round unless you have an eye issue which can make it not round ie astigmatism. Also, Are you sure it is a genuine Cmore as a lot of clones are marked as such with markings and all
GuildSF4
Also try re-seating the module, (pull it out and put it back in). Dirty contacts can cause issues like this.
