C-More Dot dances around a bit, is this normal?

Hi, as you can tell i'm pretty new to a lot of this but trying to learn. I purchased a used 1911with a c-more serendipity optic on it. The dot is not a fine round fixed central dot but rather is oblong and tends to dance/jiggle a good bit. Is this common for this type of site or does this reflect a defective module? thanks

You mean it moves around without firing the gun? If thats the case that's not normal. It will move around quite a bit when the gun is fired though. As for being oblong shaped, try turning the brightness down.

yes, without firing the pistol it jiggles similar to a flame flickering, it doesn't go on or off, just flickers. it otherwise holds its settings reliably.

Maybe not in the module but it is somewhere in the electronics. Could you replace the module and see if that helps? Get one a size larger or smaller so you can "experiment" to find what dot size you will prefer. Some of us have complete collections of modules. At least one in each size available.

Yes the dot should be more or less a small round dot that does not move, jiggle or anything. Ask around the matches in your area, somebody probably has a module in their bag for you to try out
