deerassassin22
I was wondering how long do you think you reloads last? I usually try to keep at least 5k worth of pistol bullets 9mm, 40, 45, 44 mag at all times. And for my M-4 and Scar 17 about 2.5k. I keep almost all my ammo in military ammo cans with silica gel and kept in my safes with dehumidifier rod anyone got any clues?
venatic
I have used gunpowder that has sat in a can for 40 years and I still have some primers that are 35 years old and they are fine so I would guess loaded ammo would keep for longer than that. The oldest ammo I have that I have shot recently is some 44 magnum's from 1980.
atbarr
I gave a box of 44 mag, that I loaded in '68 to a friend. They all went bang. They were stored in my garage.
GrumpyOne
For some reason, my reloads don't last very long. They seem to go bang very shortly after I load them.
Boxer1
As long as the moisture and temps are controled you shouldn't have to worry about them going bad. I too have shot and loaded with primers and powder older than me that looked like they were ok as far as not corroded or powder that is clumped together and have been fine.
