  1. I do have a primer pocket gauge and I have the cutaway 223 brass to set the swager. I cannot see any flex at all in my shell plate. I have checked my swaged brass with the primer pocket gauge once I knocked out the crooked smashed primers and the gauge slides right in.
  2. I got my case feed sensor problem resolved by turning the brass screw mentioned above slightly and all seems fine there. I lowered just slightly my primer cup to where the primer is is below flush and that seems to have gotten rid of the crushed primer issue for now. I have ran about 100 pieces of new brass and 25 pieces of once fired brass thru it and no mishaps. The next test will be to run some brass that needs swaging thru and see what it looks like primer wise. Last time I tried that every primer was seated crooked and smashed. My swager seems be set correctly as I knocked out all the crooked ones and then checked them and all would easily accept a new primer so not sure the exact problem at this point. Have had the APex 10 since May and I’m up to about 300 rounds loaded so far. Seems like I have disassembled it once for every round loaded.
  3. I have since gotten a new shuttle that is a different design. I installed it and it is definitely better.Today I managed to load 47 rounds before it didn’t pick up another primer an spilled powder everywhere. But no crushed primers at all. The reason it’s been so long as I have been out of town and busy with work. Once I installed the new primer shuttle and ran a few pieces of new brass thru it and it appeared to work I loaded up the case feeder to make a run and the sensor shutoff wouldn’t allow it to feed.Being pretty disgusted at that point I just walked away and didn’t even want to look at it for a couple weeks.
  4. It’s jammed right now. I actually added weight to the rod thinking that was why it wasn’t picking up primers at all occasionally
  5. Yes they are jamming right as they go into primer seater. They are stopping the machine with the primer being crushed. This is about a third of the primers it’s crushed. That’s not counting the ones that are crooked in the brass half crushed.
  6. I started out with Rem 7 1/2’s then in desperation tried CCI no change. Lyman sent whole new primer system. Installed ...no change. I assume that the new entire system was tuned to work and once I installed it looked like it should work but it doesn’t. It’s have taken the primer system down so many times I have worn out the screws. Not sure which backup rod you are referring to?
  7. Installed new priming system on mine... no go. First two seated about flush then jammed.
  8. I also just got that same video texted to me from Tom at Mark 7 and yes Tom has been great and definitely knows his stuff but so far it’s been a frustrating few days of tinkering to no avail. Now to get motivated enough to pull everything apart again for the umpteenth time...praying for better results
  9. I am using N340 now. Used Power Pistol and it worked fine but always lean toward Vihtavuori for cleaner burning characteristics
  10. After spending another 3 sessions of about 2 hours each or more taking the primer system off and on while making adjustments to it and the problem going from just bad to now non functioning I pretty much have given up. I managed to lock the machine up three times and had to pull the tool head and plate to clean off debris that was binding the plate. First time it was powder from earlier loading when it dumped due to no primers. Last two were from pieces of crushed primers stuck under plate. After talking at length with Lyman rep I really thought I could remedy the problem but I obviously don’t have the skills. Calf Rope!
  11. My room is 12x30 and I do have some (2) closed Dor cabinets most of my stuff is on shelves of some sort. The advice about electrical outlets is a good one. I spent hours drawing different setups of my benches and put outlets low and bench height to accommodate most any arrangement. This is one end but it’s already old as there is another bench with the Apex10 on it on the right side.
  12. That’s what came on my Apex10 and so far it has worked fine and has some nice features. Wish I could say the same about the primer system. It sucks.
  13. So how did that get resolved? Design change ,new parts?
  14. I have been tinkering with my new Apex 10 for about 4 days off and on got a total of about 350 rounds loaded. I have had to dismantle the primer system once and it’s still not picking up primers about every 30-40 rounds. Gets old fast cleaning up ball powder all over the place. Talked to Mark 7 and they suggested same adjustments that LaLoader tried above. I can’t see how if it works most of the time making those adjustments would solve it? Not sure what to do?
  15. Thanks that’s what I needed to know.
  16. Since my dealer ordered 3 and this was the first to show up last week I would assume it’s pretty newly made? But on the brighter side the cover is really super nice heavy duty material if you want to get it out of your sight.
  17. Been playing with my Apex 10 and having same primer issues. Sideway primer locked up machine once but out of 250 rounds had about a dozen rounds with no primers... sure makes a mess.
  18. I have ran a bunch of 223 brass thru a Lee APP and decapped then SS cleaned. Does this setup on an Apex 10 look like a viable way to one pass load from there. First spray One Shot then dump in case feeder .....so the order would look like this: 1. Case feed to plate 2. Trimmer die with Dillon Trimmer 3. Hold down die/swager 4. FL die with decapping removed/ primer station 5. Lyman M die expander 6. Powder thrower 7. Magnetic powder check 8. Mr Bullet dropper 9. Seater die 10 Lee FCD
  19. Wondering.....The trim die by Dillon or Lyman is FL Sizing die soooo .... is there any reason why it couldn’t go in station 2 (first open spot that’s threaded)on the Apex 10. I need to add all brass is decapped and SS washed as that is the only way it works..... so the order would look like this: 1. Case feed to plate 2. Trimmer die with Dillon Trimmer 3. Hold down die/swager 4. FL die with decapping removed/ primer station 5. Lyman M die expander 6. Powder thrower 7. Magnetic powder check 8. Mr Bullet dropper 9. Seater die 10 Lee FCD I ask because the new Lyman trimmer is not available until who knows. I am thinking just get the Dillon and roll until it’s available and sell it if I think the new one will work better. Looking at the press station two looks to be an option unless I am missing something which is very possible.
  20. Seems the trimmer won’t be available until this Fall... bummer
  21. Has anybody seen the new trimmer yet? I have my Apex 10 setup but need the Pro dies and trimmer to really get it going. Ordered all at same time but they haven’t shipped to my dealer yet. Mine is setup to load 223 and using a set of Hornady dies I had laying around I have it up and running or maybe I should say walking slowly.
  22. I have a set ordered for my Apex 10 but they have not arrived yet.
  23. My dealer said delivery last week ....now hoping for maybe next week.
  24. Thanks for replies. I upped the charge from minimum to .1 below book max and it’s running and shoots great now.
