BillChunn
Have to replace the firing pin as it broke right where it steps down to the smaller diameter. It happened just before starting the last stage of yesterday's match... DNF put the hurt on my results.... but back to the question. Is there any advantage to using the STI titanium firing pin in a 9mm Major Open gun? What about other manufacturers like Wilson's "Bullet Proof" version? Thanks, BC Edited April 22, 2013 by BillChunn
Shadyscott999
I have used a few Ti pins over the years and have found them to chip easily. May just be me. I would suggest going with a Dawson, Limcat, or McLaren extended steel.
donnyglock
+1 on shadyscott's advice.I always use an extended fp and have used all three mentioned. All excellent choices.
Rye
Limcat or mclaren firing pin. They're both good!

BillChunn
Found the cause of the breakage. This slide has the SVI interchangeable breech face and the screw holding it in place backed out. New firing pin, new spring and some Loctite in the right places and we are good to go. BC
