Th3Un4givin
I finally bought a mag gauge and was hoping it would come with an instruction but didnt, and was wondering if the back of the mag has to be flat against the back or if it just has to fit under the top, i attached a couple pics so you can see. Any help would be great! Thanks.
Poppa Bear
Mag has to sit flat against the gauge if the lips hit first and stop the mag from sitting flat then the mag fails the check.
Poppa Bear
Most mags that fail can be made compliant by knocking the back edge off the magazine.
Th3Un4givin
When you say, knock the back edge off, you mean to file down the feed lips right?
Poppa Bear
Yes, Notice how the gap at the lips gets bigger the closer you get to the front? A little file work and a gentle knock or two to the rear of the lips and the mag now sits flat against the gauge.
EkuJustice
It's the back corner of the feedlips that get knocked down a bit
NoSteel
Ditto on the rear edge of feed lips. A little goes a long way..
