Looking for 3 gun ammo, and sometimes see steel core in the description,

and i know this can be frowned upon at some ranges.

Anybody confirm or deny, or do they produce it both ways??

I've never seen it with steel core but at least one match specifically bans that. I just shot some on steel on Friday. Several rounds (but not all) left some pretty significant craters in the steel.

XM193 is not steel cored. Steel cored ammo is usually 62 grain I believe. If in doubt, check with a magnet. That is done at our monthly match.

Yes the XM193 is NOT steel cored. This ammo shoots the best out of my match rifle, just as good as my reloads with sub MOA groups. Just take a magnet near any ammo and you'll see if its steel cored or not

Xm 193 is not steel core that is all I shot last year

As stated XM-193 is not steel core, the 62gr XM-855 is the steel core stuff and is usually denoted by a green tip.
