ZombieHunter
So I recently got some "once-fire" brass, quite a bit of which is banged up pretty good. Some dents I'm usually not worried about and have fired quite a few as such. However, in the attached picture, there is about 20% that are like this to varying degrees. Thoughts on firing it? Think it would would crack or form fire out? I'd normally just throw it out if it's in question, but given the scarcity of it right now and the sheer amount I'm finding like this - I thought I'd ask opinions. Thanks! Steve RA
Probably mg ammo, looks like it hits something on ejection. Probably iron out on firing. Try a few and see.
Hi-Power Jack
Those "dents" look a little deep - they aren't already perforating the brass, are they? I'd try a few cautiously with a light load in a sturdy rifle .. Better safe than sorry.
56hawk
My 8mm brass all looks like that coming out of my Hakim. Most of that dent will disapear when it goes through the sizing die. The rest will fireform out. Even if it cracks, it's so far forward it isn't going to matter.
BullyDog
They will fire right out, most will not even show the marks after they are fired.
lee blackman
My C93 does that to all the brass. Also puts the dirty flute marks on it, but that exact same dent.
392heminut
That stuff looks just like the 7.62 military brass I got that had been shot out of a machine gun. Over 1100 rounds and they all had the same dent. I've had no problem reloading them or shooting them. After they've been fired once the dent is gone.
