Blaster
Fiocchi makes 2 3/4 7/8oz 1300fps Reduced recoil slugs and 2 3/4 1oz 1150fps low recoil slugs.I got box of reduced recoil slugs from Midway and they ran fine so I got 10 boxes from Grafs and they do not cycle shotgun every time.Any one know it low recoil slugs work better than reduced recoil? Thanks
Flatland Shooter
What shotgun are you using?
WFB
I have been using the Fiocchi reduced recoil 2 3/4 7/8oz 1300fps slugs for the past two seasons in my stock benelli M2 and have not had a single problem. A friend of mine uses the 1oz low recoil slugs in his Benelli M2 also with out any issues at all
Blaster
Shotgun is 2012 BrowningA5
goat68
As I recall the A5 is recoil operated and your shell needs to move the entire mass of the barrel to cycle the shotgun. If this is the case, you may need a heavier load.

You might be able to use up those shells if you keep that Browning real clean and run it wet. Or you might be able to trade those shells for something your gun will run. Steve RA
I'd say it is still recoil operated, since it or the Benelli neither have gas systems.
dhill
The inertia driven systems sometimes struggle with the low velocity ammo whether it be shot shells or slugs. That is one of the reasons i switched to a versamax.
Blaster
So of the 1oz and the 7/8 oz which seems to be more kick or more likely to work?
WFB
The 1oz low recoil slugs at 1150fps are pretty much in the same ball park as the 7/8 oz reduced recoil slug at 1300fps. They both work reliably with not much recoil in my Benelli M2. Fiocchi also make a full power 1oz aero slug at 1560fps which works really well on MGM spinners although with noticeable increased felt recoil
