trp
Who's reloading for a caspian frame? I've been reloading 45 and its been great, I haven't reloaded any 40 but when I was shooting my edge I used Atlanta arms and ammo long 40 Do I need to load 40 long for a caspian frame as well? Basically I have a bunch of 40 long from AAA that I might be getting rid of to possibly get set up with all the 40 stuff to start reloading. Any help would be great! sperman
Have you tried the AAA in your gun? It is going to depend on your gun, your barrel ramp, etc.

sperman
Talk to your smith. He should know what runs in the guns he builds. As far as the gun itself goes, there shouldn't be any difference between a Caspian and a 2011. Mags are a different story. I had to send my mags to Jim Anglin to get them to run consistently. ltdmstr
Doesn't really have anything to do with it being a caspian frame. What matters is the barrel and chamber. If you want to run long, your smith should add a bit of freebore to the barrel. Very easy thing to do and very common for .40 cal. 1911.
