Scot45601
Just didn't know if this could be seen as a thumb rest. I am new to SS and have just bought a STI Trojan. It does make it easier to reach if you would go to slide lock. Thanks Edited November 22, 2012 by Scot45601
open17
Yup. It's legal. As long as it still fits in the box and doesn't push you over the weight limit.
Carmine
If you wanted a thumb rest.....get a thumb rest. I'm not in favor of using a mechanical part of the gun as a rest....just say'n
waynes_world_45
I had one and my gunsmith made me take it off...can't remember exactly the reason, but he said no-no

Not that I'm going to change how I hold the gun, but that's where my thumb rests.

technetium-99m
People with long thumbs can reach over the thumb safety and keep the slide stop down preventing the slide locking back after the last round. Ive also heard the extra mass can cause the stop to engage during recoil.
Scot45601
I don't want a thumb rest as it is illegal in SS. Thanks for the help.
