wes777
Ok, in the next month I will have the reloading bench back up. I am reading a lot of opinions with none, as of yet, truly stating what I am looking for. What I dont want: titegroup, gun gets hot to fast. What I need: to make major and minor power factor with good accuracy in all weather conditions. What I would like: lower recoil for faster follow up shots. Would be nice: to use same powder in 9mm as 45acp, doesn't have to. I don't want to ride the floor of pf, because I don't want to worry about chrono at match. 45 weight: 200-230gn 9mm weight: 124-147gn My 230lrn over 4.0 clays chronod 800fps at Texas limited, good accuracy. If that is the best combo, then I will stick with it. But now is my opportunity to change all components.
ben b.
For same powder, W231 is an easy answer. Solo1000 works well for the .45s and also for 147 gr 9mm, but is pushing it a bit for 124 gr. I chose Solo1000 for .45, .40, 9mm, .38s.
Steve RA
Try some of Artie's 200gr SWCs over clays, somewhere between 4.0 and 4.5 grs should make Major for you and be accurate.
twodownzero
I've shot Clays for years, but I'm about to switch my .45 load over to Solo 1000. I use Solo for 125, 135, and 147, (and soon, 160) grain 9mm minor and 180 and 200 grain .40 major, so it seems like switching to one powder for all three is ideal.
