These are the same as the Bolens except for one big difference ... You dont have to shave the bottom of your tubes to make them fit. Just wanted to share and speard the word ... Awesome base pads enough for me to get rid of my dawsons
orangeman711
Where did you get the pads? Never heard of them. I knew Taran had bought out Bolen but didn't know he had new models in production this soon.

They worked flawless through out the day and fit the gauge better than my Dawsons SNL ( they still have wiggle room for some grip tape ) and I didnt lose capacity; soo I bought them. they're for sale here on his website : http://tarantacticalinnovations.com/ or http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Taran-Tactical-Black-Base-Pads-P2426.aspx

Probably all coming from the same place. The Hataw guys have been running them. They just have JR engraved on them. Carlos has a set as well. I wonder if they're all the same. kimberacp
I just got off the phone with Taran and he told me, with the new SV tubes the indentation that runs along the side of the tubes continues all the way down to the bottom of the tube, on the new SV tubes. The older ones, the indentations stop short of the bottom by one inch or so. The older tubes need to have the indentation formed to continue down the length of the tube in order for 21rds. to work. So, using the newer tubes is the way to go. The newer tubes do need the mag catch slot, to be file in a upward direction in order to work the older frames, about .20". hope this helps

pjb45
I spent the week playing phone tag with Taran. He keep sending me pictures of a photo shoot. After I saw the text message and picture I forgot why I was calling him. Anyway, he got four of my magazines today.
