SiG Lady
"Going through life with a conscience is a little like driving your car with the brakes on." ---Sammy Glick (from What Makes Sammy Run by Budd Schulberg) I neither support or oppose this statement, exactly. Just appreciated the analogy.
tightloop
You wouldn't have any friends if you had no conscience....
Skywalker
I neither support or oppose this statement, exactly. It all depends on the road you're driving on. If it's a curvy road, braking down can help you, if it's a straight road, you're wearing out your brakes for nothing. Sometimes being slowed down (by coscience) helps you put things in the right perspective, sometimes it's just...a waste of time! Having said this, I suppose that being able to discern when it's useful to brake or not is the major difficulty...
Dead Buff
What Sky said!!!!! To know when to do what or act how is the real Q. Not the deed itself. MHO

SiG Lady
"...It all depends on the road you're driving on." Exactly. Nothing in the area of "conscience" is completely cut and dry in life. I tend to 'drive' with the thought that the brakes are both my friend and/or my impediment, DEPENDING.
