thebigdogg316
How do you figure out the classification? I just want to figure out if i moved upwards today.
dover0020
Look on the USPSA web site under the member support tab.
Sarge
For a classifier shot today you will need to know your hit factor. HF is your time/points for the classifier. Go to cmcalc.com and look up the classifier you shot, enter the division you shot in, enter the HF and it will give you your percentage. A classifier shot today won't show up on USPSA official result until after the 10th of next month or so. oops.... I never was any good at math. Funny how easy it is to figure it out but how easy it was to screw up explaining it. Thanks for noticing JJ. Jeanjacket
I was trying to figure out if yesterday' s classifiers helped me move upwards. Like Sarge said, you'll have to use a classifier calculator to find out if you don't want to wait for them to be uploaded. To do this, you'll first need to calculate your HF (Hit Factor). This is the only thing Sarge got a little wrong. HF = Points Earned / Time (Points divided by time) So lets say you shot CM09-02 "Diamond Cutter" Click here to see CM09-02, which has 4 targets requiring two shots each, which is 8 shots total for a maximum of 40 points. You must tally up the score of your 8 shots and divide it by the time it took you to complete the stage. Let's say you shot 6 A's and 2 C's in 8 seconds. Points: in minor, this is 36 points -- in major, 38 points. (Click here for how to score in USPSA) Then divide that score by the time of 8 seconds. For minor your HF would be 4.5 For major your HF would be 4.75. Take note of this number and then go to either: www.classifiercalc.com OR www.cmcalc.com Select the correct division, pump in your HF, and it will give you a percentage. Percentages for each class can be found here: Click here
RaylanGivens
Jeanjacket - What a great post... Thanks for taking the time to document the calculations and post links for look up... Very helpful!
thebigdogg316
I know my times, points and hit factors. What i am trying to do is figure out if sunday's classifiers increased my current percentage.
Sarge
This is getting funny. If you know all of that you should be able to figure your percentages if you go to one of the websites listed above. Once you know the percentages refer to the rulebook as it explains the procedure for figuring your classification.
