swedge58
I was just wondering what optics you guys use for 3 Gun. I want to make a smart purchase. I just picked up a LMT CQB 16. Going to use iron sights for the time being and save up to buy a good optic.
co-exprs
Lots of great optics out there, and at the same time, no one perfect 3g scope. You will get lots of terrific suggestions here, but my personal short list is: <$500 Burris Mtac 1-4x $500-$1000 Meopta ZD 1-4x (daytime bright) >$1000 Swarovski Z6i BRT (daytime bright) Other popular choices: Burris XTR 1-4 Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5 US Optics SN4 1-4 (Lund reticle) Vortex PST 1-4 Nightforce NXS 1-4 Any of these scopes will serve you well. MarkCO
Burris 1-4 MTAC, about $400. Swarovski 1-6, Z6i, about $2000.
Guest
Was using a 2x7 Leupold and wanted a 1x scope for the close stuff. Got a Mtac based on the recommendations and reviews here on BE. Nice scope, good price (370 shipped from fleabay dealer), clear glass, good reticle for 3g stuff, nice features, seems durable, and it works well. I didn't want to drop the coin for a premium scope, and I don't think I shortchanged myself at all by getting this scope. The only gripe I'd have, and it is a very minor gripe, is that on 1x it has a little bit of fish-eye effect around the edges (not noticable during a match), but it quickly goes away if you just bump the magnification up a hair to about 1.1-1.2 or so. I should add, another uses the Swarovski Z6i.. Can't remember what Keith uses (didn't want to leave anyone out - lol) Edited February 21, 2012 by D.Hayden
