uspsa 2011 3 gun addendum question (for limited)

Recommended Posts

Regarding the 2011 3 gun addendum :

On the Tables breaking down open, tac, HM, limited, etc... Noticed that on the addendum for Limited that on the rifle optics it stated "one non magnified" does that mean 1x optics or does that mean iron sights only? does that include 1x trijicon rmrs and reflexes??

Also, you are allowed one optical reticle, that can be used in conjunction with iron sights, such as side mounted optics or irons.

That is not what it says. "One Non-magnified" means, well, one non-magnified optic. Put on two optics, welcome to Open Class.

So basically, a scope and a non-magnified red dot sight?

No, this is for Limited. Only ONE non-magnified optic is allowed. Could be a 1x scope, a red-dot, as long as that optic is not mgnified.

Based on what I am seeings here some of you are reading it as an 1x scope and iron sights and some of you are reading iron sights or a 1x optic but not both on the gun at the same time. Why don't one of you email John Amidon and get a definite statement?

USPSA Limited, (1) 1x optic and whatever you want to do for iron sights. Doesn't matter if it's in the same plane, different plane, mounted upside down whatever. You get one optic. No 1.5x optics, no 1x with a magnifier, no variable power scopes, just a 1x. If you want to add irons have at it. Some folks are adding a side red dot to the fancy regular limited irons they have. Some are adding side irons to a top mounted optic. I wanted it left open for all the MSR buyers that picked up 16" iron sight guns and then stuck a red dot on them. If someone really thinks it's a major advantage to stick a side dot on their limited rifle or to stick side irons on their red dot sighted rifle, have at it. I just want to see some competitors in Limited.

Some of the IMGA matches have decided it's best for their customers to restrict it to a 1x optic or irons, or to make them have to be in the same plane if you have two. Since this question is about USPSA the above answer applies.
