Bayou Bullet Help

Hello people, I just received 500 each of the 147 and 160 gr. bullets from Donnie. I called and asked for his recommendation for starting loads with Solo 1000. He didn’t know of any. I told him my load for 147 Zero FMJ is 3.6-3.7, @ 1.145. Can anyone give me an idea for starting loads? I’m thinking about 3.2 grs for the 147, and 2.8 for the 160 gr. Does this look safe to start? My club (BGSL) has a chrono, and I will use it.

I have a M&P Pro, I assume the OL (1.145) will be ok for the 147, what about the 160?

Thanks,

A.T.

I gave up on Solo 1000 due to lot inconsistency but 3.6 gr (lot 1877) behind a Ranier plated 147 would avg 875 fps. However, lot 1930 was approx. 80 fps slower at the same load. Gun is M&P Pro, OAL 1.13

I'm currently using VV N320 3.1 g behind Donnie's Bayou Bullets 147, avg 870 fps. Works well!

Currently running 3.6 gr Solo with Donnie's 147 (and other lead bullets) at 1.135 COL. Consistantly getting 133 PF from both STI Spartan and M&P 9 Pro. That's chronoed at 100* and the indoor readings (73*) yesterday were just a little faster. Have some 160's and gonna start at 3.6 gr and see what happens.
