Graham Smith
I mark the bottom but the primary reason is not to help find it. I load both major and minor .40 and I mark the bottom red or green so I can be sure I can tell them apart. Also, while I am doing that, I'm checking all the primers for proper seating. shooter57
I have different color markers and mark them different at the range to what others are marking thiers.,ie: X,=,- or letter. at the range if alone for practice I won't mark them.

bassochist
not anymore since i shoot 9major, loads of free once fired brass at the range from the same headstamp. in days where i was shooting .38sa, i marked the brass in the extractor groove, i made a simple tool to do that. latech15
Since I got rid of the 38sc and went to 9mm for open I don't pick it up anymore. I dont pick it up at any match anymore. Most of the time we are either three hours from home or it is too dang hot. I just leave it there for the brass whores. They have yet to thank me either. 9mm and 40 is too cheap to fuss with. Besides that, with the rise in popularity of 9mm major, I don't want to shoot any of their stuff.
