  1. Been reloading lead for over 30 years and never had a BLL this high. Will be 64 this year so I may start loading jacketed bullets. I don't like loading with gloves on, may also try that.
  2. I shoot 6-8 + K of 38,9,45,and 22's inside ranges every year another 2-3 K outside. I reload everything I shoot but 22's
  3. just got the results back today, 28.4. Dr. said stop the reloading and shooting for awhile.
  4. If you changed from lg primers to small primers did you also change the primer tube to the correct one. I forgot to change the tube once and had the same problem. I was checking everything I could think of the last was did I change the tube? nope I forgot.
  5. I don't understand why a custom built gun would need a 1000 rds through it before you can expect the proformance it was built for. another few minutes polishing the parts should save the need for breaking in.
  6. I'd say someone messed with the lips and you just fixed it, Never had problems with CM or wilsons.
  7. Mine just fell out today at the range. just super gluded it back when I got home. Lucky I was in the inside range alone and found it on the floor.
  8. I use Darda cast bullets and get very little smoke, very accurate.
  9. Another check for high primers is just sit them up on a flat surface and make sure they don't rock
  10. You may be pushing the bullet to fast to stablize, back off the powder and see what happens.
  11. We should always think before we jump into something.
  12. Many don't realize there doing it and only think of it as focus or day dreaming.
  13. lubing makes it easier, but not neccesary on streight wall pistol cases a must for rifle cases.
  14. I load my 9's at 1.045 OAL rn and rnfp. XD-tac,springfield loaded target and a ruger P-85. dead accurate and no feeding problems.
  15. You might want to try dropping the amount of powder a couple of grains and see what happens. your at the top of the scale for solo. would even get a pound of another powder to try. I like WST but I also don't shoot Glocks.
  16. I read all the thread and it's pretty good. But you can shoot all the top shooters guns and find a surprize. their all a little different. Some like a 1 1/2 # trigger and another wants a 3# trigger or somewhere in between just what they feel makes them fast and accurate. all grips are not the same you need one that fits you. you need ammo thats 100% right for your gun. I see some people spend $$$$ on a custom gun and then want to tweek it a little, Hello you just spent the money what makes you think the builder didn't do it right? Best advise in all these threads is get a gun you like shoot the hell out of it and find what works for you. you will not find that in a couple thousand rounds. having a gun you think is the best in the state don't mean anything if you can't shoot it. The top shooters can take your gun and make it act like a top gun because they shoot thousands of rounds, have great trigger control and keep their focus on the sights. It's alot of work that most cannot afford if you don't have the money and time to practice. Yes you can be good but not in the top ten match after match. so shoot and have fun.
  17. Just keep using less powder until you get the feel your looking for and the gun still cycles right. if you want it still light change the recoil spring and start again. I load 200 SWC in a 5" Kimber with 3.3 gr of clays for light target loads, springs you just need to keep swapping out because each gun slide is different.
  18. Your looking for problems using buffers if you really don't need then, first clue will slide not locking back
  19. screw the die up and lower the seater plug and adjust the bullet where you want it. oal. Then unscrew the plug out and screw the die down until you feel it touch the case then slowly turn the die down until you get the crimp you want. then screw the plug down until it sits ontop of the bullet. You should have a case in each station while adjusting the dies or the plate may tilt and not be the same when you start loading.
  20. I think buffers cause more problems then they fix. If they were really needed don't you think all the manufactors would put them in the guns?
