40 cal major?

i know there are very many topics on it but just getting some feed back from you all.

looking on loading 180 gr percison delta jackated round nose with wst.

whats a good starting load and than i can work up to a major pf.

is that a good combination

i cant really find a good load data sheet with this combo

will be shooting from a glock 22

Look around for some SOLO 1000 or TiteGroup.

If something works well, you'll find a lot of references here.

Say What? I shoot with two local Limited GM's, one is a legend, they both shoot WST, I've shot it a lot and still prefer it to the other more popular powders. Just as clean and soft as N320 and 1/2 the cost. In an STI we load long at 1.185 to 1.200, at 1.140 which is about factory length you would probably want to start at 4.5gr and work up. Your going to hit the 170 pf some time before 5.1 gr. If you just want to make steel go ding and let your girlfriend shoot the gun load some up at 3.8gr. The load data for WST is just like 231 just drop a tenth, if you can find old load books its full of WST loads, also the Rick Mass IPSC loads. Make no mistake its a fast powder and in a short round you can run amok with pressure with too much of it.

I've shot titegroup, it's reverse temp sensativity and extra heat in the barrel were not plesant and it didn't shoot as well as WST. I worked up a load at 170pf at temp of 100+ went to the Gator at a temp of <50 and the Crono said 189pf. Did I say it dirty, well there are worse but many better. (200gr Zero)

Solo 1000 I've not shot it but you can tell when some one is just look for the smoke cloud. Then ask to look into their gun, it is going to be dirty in there.

I've shot N320 and it works very well with either Moly or Jacketed bullets and its clean, just hard to get and expensive.

I run MG 180 JHP with 5.2 or 5.3 of WST, depending on the barrel.

WST is a bulky powder, so it comes close to filling up the case. It would be difficult to double charge WST in .40.

I used to run TG, but it is very hot, and has more felt recoil, IMO.
