40 Cal Steel Load

I'd have to look back through all my stuff to find what I had worked up in 155s.

I'm only running 4.7 grains of Titegroup behind a Nosler 135 for a "gamer" load. :roflol:

It really depends on what you have for a gun, and how it's sprung to get an idea as to what you can get away with. :surprise:

I dont use Titegroup but I just worked up a steel load. The load I setteled on is

N320 4.8 gr

winchester small rifle primer

Hornady XTP 155

OAL 1.220

crimp .421

win brass

This load gave me 131 PF from my Brazos Limited gun. This might help get you a starting place. It worked fine with a 12# recoil spring, but I will try with 10# spring next time

Why the use of small rifle primers?

5.6gn of TiteGroup with a 155gn bullet should be about the same as the N320 load.

I am using small rifle primers because that is what I use for Limited and I dont have any small pistol primers
