VegasOPM
I'm a very skeptical guy but this looks kind of interesting... i was wondering if any of you guys have tried this?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxzQjbJLLJk http://www.fitnessanywhere.com/ I know that we use it in our training room for our artists and they tend to like it because it is a challenge. I played with it a bit and it is something that seems to be reserved for the most fit of the fit. Basically, when typical bodyweight exercises are way too easy- try this. The artists are Cirque du Soleil performers, if that tells you their level of physical capacity. Collegiate gymnasts, professional Wushu artists, acrobats- that sort of thing- and it challenges them. Aglifter
Gymnastics has its roots in the physical training knights went through, I have no doubt working out w rings is effective - I don't know if you'd be able to train your legs that well w. it. Calmwater
We used it some in a boot camp class I did. You could make the upper body exercises more or less difficult with body angle and foot position. It is effective but don't let it intimidate you. dangucci
I have been using it for a while. Its a great workout for any level of fitness. Its easy to modify the exercises to increase or decrease the amount of strength required to perform it. It can be tricky to find a place to use it though. When I traveled a lot for work I felt pretty confident hooking it up to the hotel room door. The doors in my house I don't quite trust. I wound up putting a hook in the ceiling in my basement. Bottom line, its a great total body workout. I would recommend getting it.
John Thompson
I made my own suspension trainer for $15- using packing strap, carbiners and pvc pipe I got from home depot. www.rosstraining.com has a super simple and recent tutorial.
Hartmann
It's excellent. I own one and use it a lot as part of a general weight training program. You don't have to be uber fit to use it. One of its advantages is its use while traveling. Bodyweight exercises usually don't target the posterior chain (back, hams, etc) that well so the TRX fills the gap. You can use the TRX to make an exercise as easy or tough as you need per your fitness level.
