  1. You would need your USPSA number for them to post your scores. I think.
  2. From the email, Price Increase for Area 5 coming up soon. Sign up now! Friday slots are still open. area5.org PASA - This month's club match will be this Sunday May 19th. We will be shooting 12 stages from the Single Stack/Revolver Nationals-219 ROUNDS! Registration will begin at 830 am cost is $20 This will be a long day so plan to bring lunch with you to the range. To keep the match moving, squads of no less than 6, no more than 8. To save time at registration, email your info to broyalty@adams.net Thanks, Brian Sparta Saturday May 18 Sparta will hold a classifier match with six stages and a round count of 76 all stages will be classifiers. I mention last month might have one or two standard stages also, but advised we could not do. We have had a lot of new competitors this year and there are several competitors who have never joined USPSA shooting here at Sparta. And that is fine for local matches but we are hosting the Illinois Sectional at Sparta this year and you will need to be a member of USPSA to participate. If you join USPSA and make this match you will be able to shoot the Sectional and have your classification before the match in August. Start time 9:30 am Thanks Dave
  3. And ten or eight rounds I'm reloading every time I move so the two rounds minor gives wouldn't help me as much as major scoring but that wasn't the point of this post anyway
  4. The platform was originally designed around a 45, factory ammo will function more reliably in a 45, I think 45 shoots softer at the same power factor and a bigger hole breaks more A box lines. Yeah it hits a few more no shoots too, but there is an A box on every target. Truth is its probably so close the best shooter will win with either....
  5. I didn't think the XDs were SSP legal for IDPA. If that matters.....
  6. A little more pressure so a little more velocity per inch out o polygonal rifling. For the same reason you aren't as safe shooting non jacketed ammo out of it though.....
  7. I feel for shooters without a home for their pistol of choice. That being said I don't know why they would change the rules of one of the more popular divisions just to try and make one gun more competitive. 8 shot major beats 10 shot minor most of the time in single stack.
  8. I second Waterfowl-widowmaker. My department has Rules Of Conduct that would apply anytime I represent the department and that pretty much means all the time.....
  9. Hit a 8 inch balloon at 100 yards with my 438 snub using my +p carry ammo. Took me 4 shots and cost my buddy 20 bucks......
  10. Are you left handed? The reversible mag release is nice on the 4. Other than that, I think progress probably peaked with the gen 3.....
  11. I have played at these distances a little. Good trigger control and Bunchies95 advice will get it done....
  12. Yeah, their discount price on Glocks is nothing to sneeze at either....
  13. I wasn't interested at first, but the thin gun with a good trigger and real sights in a combat caliber at less than 4 bills out the door is tempting. The can keep the single side manual safety though....
  14. Atlantic tactical online has a smokin first responder deal on them if you qualify.....
  15. Brian's book addresses different sight pictures, target vs sight focus at different ranges in detail. I can't recommend the book enough...... I wouldn't say I can do it, but I know several shooters that can shoot from their index with sufficient accuracy at close range to call their shots.......
  16. In your book you talk about driving a car in a state of mushin. A pistol can be driven the same way, you just can't have any ego attachments to your performance. Just drive, just shoot. It won't make you better than you are, but you will perform your best....
  17. I am not sure what disadvantage the magazine disconnect safety would cause. I'm no fan of them but firing the last round in the gun is rarely going to save you time and on the rare occurrence where it does it won't hurt to have the empty mag in the gun......
  18. Twice the opportunity for a malfunction. No that's not right when taking the timing of the matter into account...... Exponentially higher... And yeah, no left hand 1911s for those of us who would buy one.....8
  19. This is one of my favorite new series. I am glad to hear there will be another season.....
  20. The current gen 4, better standard sights, some sort of frame support to improve reliability with a weapons mounted light.
  21. Some of the guys I have shot with have had trouble with .40 1911s shooting factory ammo. If you are a reloader and can load long, that will probably not be a problem for you....
  22. Calmwater

    17 or 19

I have carried both a 22 and a 23 concealed. I kind of consider concealed carry guns to fall in one of two camps: 1.big enough they have to be carried on a belt and 2. Small enough they can be carried in a front pants pocket The full size Glock isn't any harder to conceal on a belt than a 26/27 is. They are all too big for ME to pocket carry. I would buy the 17. That being said, the 19 is plenty accurate. I have personally bit my hand pretty good doing reloads with the compacts and midsize but never the full size.
