kdj
Finding an Open gun in CA was a challenge but with help from many people, step one was accomplished! Kevin

spook
That's a very clean setup. I like it.
eric nielsen
Koenig hammer, full-length slide, big comp, tube sight, slide racker. Those are all plus items IMO. You did good. Please don't hack under the trigger guard unless somehow the gun actually points too high for you. The original shape, like you have, helps to point the sv-sti gun up. So do the really huge mag-wells: the more you squeeze them, the more the gun points up. My $.
ErikW
You can hack where the trigger guard meets the grip without affecting how it points. Forward of the mag release may cause problems.
kdj
As Charlie has posted a picture of my new short gun on his site, http://members.aol.com/guntriks/1911/1911.htm I guess that it's time I made good on my promise to post a picture here. It's still being fiddled with but is about 95% done at the moment. I'm pleased with the speed and handling and we're still working on the reliability a little. diehli
Kevin, where'd you get the racker? The heater looks good.
kdj
The racker is a Brazos Sidewinder that I bought back at the beginning of the year thinking I might put it on my old gun. We've fiddled with a few things since this picture and it now has a Thumb rest on the scope mount. Still a work in progress ... Kevin
BigDave
How does shooting the Aimpoint compare to the C-More?
kdj
The Aimpoint is more precise (in many ways) and much better engineered. The C-more is lighter, faster and much more open. To borrow a quote from Matt Burkett "You literally do see more". I had thought that the Aimpoint had a huge advantage if you forgot to turn the dot on but the diode to lens index on the C-more is good enough too What I want is a C-more built by Aimpoint but since I have to make a choice, I wouldn't go back to an Aimpoint.
