3-Gun Rifle - Open Division

If I am shooting Open Rifle, and want to use a bipod for a long range stage, must it stay on the gun for all remaining stages?

Most matches will dictate that the gun must remain in the same configuration for the entire match. Always check the rules as they will address that specifically.

I think bi-pods are the exception. Most seem to allow the removal/add of the bi-pod. I think it was more comon a few years back to mandate it stay on.

Dave is right.

I don't know of a match that does not allow the bipod to go on and off the rifle as determined by the competitor.

From the Combined Rules release September 30, 2009:

5.1.10.1 Chokes, slings, bi-pods, monopods, ammo/mag holders, and flashlights may be added or removed at any time during the match, providing that they are allowed in the competitor’s division.
