Traveling to Albuquerque, NM

I will be traveling to Albuquerque, NM with my son for the 2010 National Junior Air Rifle Championship. We are planning a free day, June 27, so what do you consider to be must do/see?

Gun shops, museums, sightseeing, food?

The zoo there is pretty darn good. If you are bringing a wife (and have time) Santa Fe has a lot of little shops.

Abq has a neat old town district with lots of shops as well.

Gun stores.....nothing worth making an extra trip for.

There are quite a few current Abq residents on here who will chime in.

The Sandia Peak Tramway is also a must see and do. Restaurant at the top. Longest in the US i believe.

The tram is cool as well...great view of the city

You might want to take in an Isotopes baseball game if they are in town. The Albuquerque aquarium/botanical gardens is kind of neat. Too bad you won't be out a week earlier as the RGPSC High Desert Classic will be shot on the 19th and 20th.

go to Carlsbad and check out the caverns. they put the tram to shame (sorry Jammer1911)it can be done in a day easy and you wont believe what you are seeing.
