Broke my CZ!

I use snap caps when dry-firing, but that's apparently not enough.

When I dry fire now, the thing the hammer hits gets stuck forward in the slide.

I can push the firing pin back into the breech-face a bit, but that does not help.

Surely this has happened to someone else before?

I haven't been able to find any instructions about how to disassemble the slide, and I don't want to risk hurting it more.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

75b in .40.

If it's dirty I guess I need to get it apart anyway.

with a 75b, the firing pin is held in place by the roll pin in the side of the slide. you need to tap this roll pin out. make sure you cover up the rear of the slide so the firing pin doesn't come out when the roll pin comes out.

after the roll pin is out. the firing pin should come out partway. the firing pin block is now holding it in. now depress the block and the firing pin will come out the rest of the way. then the block will come out.

check your firing pin for burrs. check the spring, clean out the tunnel.

see if that helps.

Ah! Excellent. It's not broken. Just gummed up.

I did manage to destroy both roll pins however.

Maybe they would have something at ace or somewhere?

I'd like to shoot in a match this weekend, no time to order stuff online.

Thanks for the help!

Harbour freight sells an expensive small punch set that works well for driving these pins, also they have a bunch of hammers of all types.

Here are some Cz parts listings for you:

Angus has always been fast for me using 'Priority Mail'. It might get there in time if you call and order a.m..

P.S. If you put an 'O'-ring that fit's snugly under the hammer, It will eliminate pin damage with or without snap caps.
