  1. Ok - I wanted to update on what I have found. I hate to keep this thread going but I feel the questions should be answered for the shooters who participated in this great match put on by San Angelo.

Val at USPSA has written to me stating that the match was not uploaded to then for activity so to this date it is not in the database for classification. I am sure it is an oversight on SA Gun Club. I sent an email over to them asking about this but have had no response. If you shoot an Area Championship it should be at least sent in to USPSA.

No words from anyone also on the Awards being sent to the winners. San Angelo is a great place to shoot and they have great people - I think someone has dropped the ball on this and I do not want see shooters take a bad taste in their mouth about this match or San Angelo.

Just wanted to update the shooters who were wondering about this information but who did not want to post.

  2. It is my understanding that STI has the rights to the plastic grip and when the founders split SV had an agreement to use the plastic grip for a certain amount of time. I think this is the reason for the new SV grip. I applaud SV for trying to improve on great design and I am sure it will work out - although a little pricey it seems to make the buyers happy so far!

  3. I have tried most of the popular speed holsters - Here are my takes

CR Speed - Nice holster - Lots of adjustments - fairly secure - Depending on where you have it on your belt, it could stick into your leg. Good Choice and it comes with a spare parts kit

Safariland 012 - If you like your gun in the dirt - not a dig on the brand just stating the truth on that model

Limcat - great holster - very fast and secure - the lock can get bumped though

Ghost - All around good holster, secure, fast but can wear out with heavy use - the older model was made with metal not plastic - so it lasts longer but needed drilling of your trigger guard - they do offer a block replacement which makes replacing it very inexpensive - 70$

Speed Sec - Great holster and great price, fast and secure

    Thats my take ......

  4. Kev... Slight drift. Techwear shirts? When did you order them vs receive them?

Those are custom stock shirts - our shirts are not ready yet but they should be here soon. It took 4-5 days for those to come in.

  5. Nice to see someone taking advantage of their sponsorship program.

Rudy has been great to us! They committed to supporting the shooting sports and now they have moved into supporting a Team for USPSA/IPSC.

  6. I have not posted videos in a while and since we changed the team over to a new sponsor here is the first one of some of the members - hard to get them all in once place these days - we missed Jamie Foote and Ted Bonnet in this match - The next video should have them. I wish I had some video of Dave Re at this match as he shot an awesome match!!

Thanks for checking it out and I hope you enjoy it!!

  7. Here's the thing... those jitters are simply your brain reacting to the fact that you're about to do something really damn cool and exciting. That's it ;) Save that stuff up and use it... The problem most folks encounter is how to focus it onto something useful. Mitch is right on about the breathing - some slow, deep breaths will help to bring the heart rate back down and level your head. And I mean purposefully slow and deep. Remind yourself that the nerves/jitters are normal, and just an indication that you're excited about what you're going to do, and then focus on the task at hand - run the stage through in your head, still breathing deeply and calmly. Keep breathing smoothly and deeply right through "Make Ready" and to "Standby"... then give it hell.

What I love is the post-stage adrenaline hit... when its hard, my hands will shake for a good 3-4 shooters after me  Breathing helps with that, too...

Yep - I sometimes shake for the next 2-3 shooters and that is a large part of the addiction to open!!! Use it to your advantage!!

  8. It is apparent that Howard is a great mag tuner if you have not realized that already hahaha - There is a wait due to his popularity.

If you want mags that are tuned and ready for delivery today - Brazos Custom has great tuned mags and I have never had an issue with them. They always work.

Dawson is now selling 140 tuned mags on his site and he can really tuned them up.

It is just a matter of time preference.

  9. Yeah, but from the early reports it sounds like you're still going to have to deal with opening up the inside to get mags to drop free....why we can't buy quality stuff that doesn't require extra work is just beyond me!

Seems as my earlier question of what the pro and cons are have racked up some heavy cons to the current version of this product. I am sure it will get resolved eventually but as said before - can we buy something in this sport that just works?

  10. KG, I hear your frustration but it is never going to change. In order to improve service, you must pay more than the minimum wage and that would drive prices up. Sorry to say, you get what you pay for. You should get a tour through the kitchen during a busy lunch hour if you want to really be upset :) Hope this isnt taken as a rebuttal.....

You are correct - and I am finding that most of the eateries here are not much more expensive than some of the fast food places. I love eating a really good places but sometimes you crave that down and dirty bad for you burger you have eaten since a kid.

  11. I do understand those issues - I managed restaurants in my early life! The one thing I cannot get over is - They have computers that tell them what is ordered. Here is the list - go down the list and make sure it is in the bag - not condiments - no problem but when you don't put the burger in the order when you go to BURGER X then is becomes crazy!!

On the other issue - Does it take a seasoned professional fast food artist to know that you do not blow your freakin nose in a towel and wipe the counter with it!!!!!!!

Like I said before in this thread - the symptoms discussed here are just that - symptoms - the real issue is we have society slowing changing over to "I could care less" attitudes and it worries me.
