2010 Toys for Tots
Jack Suber replied to sperman's topic in Match Announcements - Pistol Only - USPSA, IPSC & Misc.
Just a reminder - the match is limited to 120 competitors. After that we start a wait-list, so hurry up and sign up. The match is around the corner. So far, here are the sponsors for this year's match: 2010 Sponsors so far: Mossberg Firearms, Infinity Arms, Redding Reloading, Chris Paty's Winning Shooting Accessories, Manny USA, USPSA, Brownells, Starline Brass, Red Dot Shooting, GTUL, Wilson Combat, Springfield Armory, and Columbia Arms, LLC. -
Here's an interesting little tidbit I learned today. The ref in Saturday's USC/KY game is none other than Wilbur Hacket, Jr. Remember him? He's the guy tackled Gamecock QB Stephen Garcia against LSU in 2008. He also happens to have played football at Clemson....and later...here's the kicker...he was a linebacker at Kentucky. No wonder Kentucky wasn't called for any holding... SEC rules supposedly prohibit such a conflict of interest. Oh well...

Obviously the EAST is the weak link in the SEC... SEC Standings EAST..............CONF..OVERALL South Carolina ....2-2...4-2 Florida................2-3...4-3 Georgia..............2-3...3-4 Vanderbilt...........1-2...2-4 Kentucky............1-3...4-3 Tennessee...........0-3...2-4 WEST...............CONF..OVERALL * - Auburn..........4-0...7-0 * - LSU..............4-0...7-0 * - Alabama........3-1...6-1 Miss State.........2-2...5-2 Arkansas...........1-2...4-2 Mississippi........1-2...3-3 Yep. It was an SEC east team that beat the #1 team in the country. We'll see how Auburn fares against them. On another note, it was real classy of the the Kentucky fans taunting the Gamecocks QB. Front page of our newspaper has a pic of a fat blonde KY fan running after Stephen Garcia with her pompom and another fat KY fan hitting him in the helmet. Fans are not supposed to be on the field...I hope KY gets a hefty fine levied on them by the SEC...

Kentucky was due after 10 years of being owned by S.C. However, we are still leading the SEC east and have a great chance of being in Atlanta for the SEC Championship. It is the same team that soundly beat the #1 team in the country...

Yep, "That just happened...."
-
That they did! Gamecocks just kept Bama back on their heels all game. Only downer was the stupid safety by Garcia. Great game! Pat I can't wait to find out what Garcia was thinking??? or not thinking....

Very classy of Mark Ingram to run off the field like a kick that just got his butt kicked.....oh wait...he did get his butt kicked!!

Jason and Sandro - Thanks! I am glad y'all could make it and enjoyed the match. A lot of work went into it and it could not have been done without the volunteers and staff we had. Here are the results: http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-display-match-results-detail.php?indx=30 Take care. -

Steve, Yep. Weather looks like it will cooperate this weekend. All the rain hit us a little while ago. The range should dry significantly by Friday, but I would still wear cleats...The clay can still hold water and be slicker than snot is some places. I will try to address the slick areas tomorrow. See you this weekend.

The Rules do suggest a 1,2 4 ratio. With a 12 stage match, it would result in 2 Long Courses, 4 Medium, and 6 Short courses. I switched it up a little - 2 Long, 6 Medium, and 4 short courses. I wanted to get a little more shooting into the match. The round count is 191. See y'all in a couple of weeks.

Yep, we have a balanced attack. I am still worried about our D, but then I have to realize they kept the Dawgs out of the endzone. It will be interesting to see how the Taters fare against Auburn this weekend. Lattimore is the REAL deal.

The 2010 IPSC National Championship will be held October 1-2, 2010, at Mid-Carolina Rifle Club in Columbia, SC. This is a World Shoot Qualifier Match. The match will be 12 stages, approx 190 rounds minimum. This is a one-day format match - shoot either Friday or Saturday. The stages have been approved and I expect to have them online within the next few days. As it looks right now, we will not have enough entries to recognize Modified or Revolver Divisions. We need at least 20 entries for each. Stay tuned. More information will be posted. The application, hotel info, etc. can be reached from: www.southcarolina-uspsa.org. thanks. P/S The match also has a Facebook page. Updates will be posted there, as well.

George, If you have an emailable version, I would appreciate it. I need to get my presentation wrapped up by this weekend. Thanks!

Thanks for the link. I am not very PC savy. Is there a way to download the video to my laptop? I would not have internet access where I teach. Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can find a downloadable animation of a 1911's function? I am looking for something similar to STI's screensaver that I can use in my CWP classes. None of those I have found are downloadable and I can only get the STI to work as a screensaver. Thanks.

Sorry if this has been posted before...but I am not having much success with the search function of the forum. Anyway, are any of you using ramshot Competition with a 40/180 FMJ? What are your loads (charge weights) and OAL? What are your experiences with temps, etc.? Thanks.
