  1. With that ammo, my 930 ripped the heads off from 3rds (I bought 1000rds and thought it was a good deal - I now know why it was cheap). Changed ammo and its been fine since.
  2. I've had similar issues with my 870, there are vids on youtube about this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu9LIroAEuw Get yourself a non-MIM extractor from Brownells http://www.brownells.com/shotgun-parts/receiver-action-parts/extractor-parts/extractors/extractor-non-mim-prod10745.aspx Polish the chamber some more with some steel wool on a bore brush chucked in an electric drill.
  3. Makes sense (given our dumb firearms laws) about pinning the tube to make the gun a 3 shot. Otherwise you could just change the tube & have a S1 shotgun. Give Steve Pike @ Shield a call - he should put you right 01308 482626
  4. You need to talk to the right RFDs Whereabouts in the UK are you based?
  5. How can you practice pin and release in dry firing? Don't laugh. Practice shooting an air rifle or pistol. The pellet travels so slowly, its moving down the barrel for a (relatively) long time. It teaches you good follow through.
  6. A shooting buddy has an M2 and he fitted a Taran Tactical lifter. It was good to go right from the start - no modifying required.
  7. Hail Ming! Can anyone measure their pin? Mine fell out at a comp (biggest stage, naturally) so I don't have one to measure.
  8. The clip on my 930 fell out the other week. I'd be grateful for any info on how to obtain one of these, as Mossberg customer service doesn't want to know as I'm based in the UK and none of the shops who have Mossbergs can get parts for them either.
  9. These fit http://www.tacstar.com/home/magazine-extensions-02.php
  10. Friend of mine has one of these & it runs 1oz/28gm loads rinky-dink. If yours is not reliable, make sure to check everything else before driling into the barrel.
  11. The slot can be for two reasons: 1/ In the event of a double feed, you can poke a key/screwdriver/remains of a table knife in the slot and push the second round back into the mag tube. 2/ The weight removed by cutting a slot can offset the weight added by the newly welded material. This maintains the timing of the lifter, aligns the planets and brings peace to the galaxy.
  12. +5 ended up flush with the muzzle on a 24" Nova. Semi-autos may be different though.
  13. Shield in Dorset & Valkyrie Rifles in Yorkshire spring to mind. There also plenty of skilled welders around who wouldn't say no to some work.
  14. Baldie Dave at Valkyrie can weld your lifter http://www.valkyrierifles.net/ So can Steve Pike at Shield. No need to ship your lifter to the USA
  15. Welcome young man. Mines a rum & coke. You'll be lucky if you can find a 930 JM Pro - pretty very rare over here. Hows about a nice Mossberg 590 instead?
  16. Open division all by yourself - standard is where the competition is! And I never said I was the competition, though I am world class at fumbling ammo
  17. Here's a website for obtaining new springs & also instructions on fabricating some tools to make the job easier gas-piston-springs.com ETA: I don't have enough posts to hotlink
  18. I've got an SX3 with approx 1200rds through it. Last week, the coil spring inside the piston broke this seems to be the achilles heel of the design. It's still a good compromise as gas guns go. ETA: hey, first post!
