  1. True, revo's weren't crossing my mind when it was made, as we don't have any wheelgunners in our club. As for slots, forgot to comment on that earlier, our windows are mid wall placed and about 50 cm's high, so all shooters can use them. I've noticed when building with our high windows that some shooters won't make it up there as easy as I do without something to stand on, so I try to avoid high windows.
  2. I'm glad you guys like it, and ofcourse, if you want to use it, by all means, do it The two single targets are ment to be visible, to give an option. If shooting left to right as I would to avoid going back out of the low port, you could choose to shoot it on the way into the first port, or leave it as an easy entrance target in the second port, as opposed to going straight on the steel. The stacked barrels was a great idea, as the more I look at it, the more I realize the stage will be ruined by allowing the steel to be shot from the far left hand. And I definately will go for penalty sticks on top, that was an excellent solution to add another challange to it. PS: I upped it to the Google SketchUp model database, so you can get different views if you want to use it. Just search for IPSC stage or COF or similar.
  3. This is the first ever stage I post to get some feedback. I've only built stages on L1 club level in a club with less than 10 active members, and I thought I might learn something from posting my stages here I use Google SketchUp to design my stages, because it gives a nice 3D look, shows more how I intend it to look when its finished and I can check for 90 and shoot-through's if my mind is with me when I play with the program. All our walls on our range is 120x210cm's, so thats what I've used here. They are transparent so it will be easier to see what its suppose to be built like, but we use solid walls when we build. The 29rds long course is comstock count, gun loaded and holstered, shooter standing on the X in center of the demarcated area with hands on the two walls besides the X. To sprayed X'es will be made on the walls when constructing, at shoulder level (150ish cm's high). Shoot targets as and when they become visible, from within the demarcated area. Small steel plates about 10m's out from the windows, popper some more meters back to avoid shoot through if shooter desides to lean around the L/H side wall to engage an extra paper and some steel from there. Should I have made the fault line on the L/H side 90degrees out from the wall, instead of straight back to make it a lot harder to do this, as my main idea was that steel had to be shot from windows, and not just run past them blazing? PM your mail adress if you need the full GSU file to play with. Thanks, Jostein.
  4. This summer i was stupid enough to borrow a pair of rudy's for a weekend. I bought a pair for shooting, but ended up using them as everyday sunglasses as well...
  5. who said anything about penalty targets? I know its late over here, but I can't find anything other than NS's in the thread.. FWIW, I think the no-shoots used to be called PT's in an older rulebook, at least for IPSC.
  6. Before I started shooting open I had problems with my shots drifting away from HC/NS's. The ammo I used would wander 4 inches either way from POA so I guess I just took precautions to avoid the misses and NS's, when it actually just did the same thing on the other side of the target. Now, shooting open, with a better gun and better ammo, I KNOW where the bullet goes, and it makes an incredible difference in confidence approaching this type of targets.
  7. Get a Shooters Connection bag! The bag is awesome! Plus Chuck's service is really top notch =)
  8. I put the weak hand thumb over the slide in front of the ejection port. The other fingers on the weak hand are already forming the grip and go below the frame so when I pull the slide back I only have to let it go and cant my hand to get back in shooting grip. Its really fast, and works just as well for option 3 starts too. I put a piece of grip tape from the ejection port and forward to the sight, wide enough to almost go all the way down to the frame on both sides to ensure I get enough traction from my thumb over the slide. As for shrapnel from a detonation, I'll second the comment above that for condition 2 starts, there is no round to detonate on the ejector or whatever.
  9. I just got my first box of N105 for some testing. What loads do you have for major with 124gr JHP? 115's is not an option due to me shooting IPSC not USPSA...
  10. Yes I'm brushing up an old thread, but N105 is still listed on VV's website, so I don't think its discontinued.
  11. Bedell Full Size open blaster, no holes 9,3gr 3N38 124gr MG JHP Starline supercomp shells Federal SP 178 PF If you've got more in a full size with no holes, stop shooting it until you chrono! sound WAY too hot.
  12. did you have to pay for a broken dillon part replacement? thats a first for me...
  13. I will do some load development, but first I need to relearn how to shoot again. haven't shot in 6 months, and I'm blinking so much the world looks like the strobe on a disco.
  14. I used 3N38. Sander tried it as well, and he said don't change anything. I've got to shoot it some more with this load, double plugged, cos I'm probably blinking a bit.
  15. as expected, the gun worked flawless during the Nationals. Had to borrow mags though. The bigstick I borrowed had a tendency to go nosediving when very few rounds left, so it puked on me twice during the match. However, this is a mag, not gunrelated problem, so I'm still happy, as I got my set from Howard today
  16. I would test a lot of powders if it didn't cost me half an arm to get it shipped here. VV is what we got, so its what I use.
  17. yes it was cheap training ammo. he was all out of 124's and got a good deal. sub-120gr bullets won't be scored minor if they are above 160PF. They are deemed to be unsafe and you're not allowed to use them in the match. If 10.2gr N105 actually makes major or not we don't know for sure. 10.2 gr was his 124gr bullet load, but it made PF with good margin in his V8 ported gun.
  18. thats about the only shooting advantage we got here in Norway. VV is the most available powder. All shooting shops got it. In all types.
  19. It was what I was adviced to use in the SV IMM 9mm I had. Worked well there. I hadn't heard anything bad about it, and I had it "in stock" so to speak, so I figured I might as well spend it. Got a pound left, so it won't be long until I change to N105. Have not had any dot track problems, or flash problems with it, like others have, either.
  20. tumble your new brass before you reload it...
  21. haha that one I deserved. I'm workin on it. Between 14 hour work days, a wife and two kids, there is not very much time left over to drive around looking for a stand to borrow.
  22. if you've read the forums, you'll se the pictures in the thread about me buying it
  23. 5", Ti comp. Chuck told me that going longer would not work with JHP's.
  24. I'd love to, but its the Norwegian Nationals for me *updated location info to avoid confusion...
  25. I'll turn it down to 9 blank for the nationals then. If that holds for a shorty it should hold in a 5.5" barrel...
