  1. I guess this might be a place to start. I belong to a small trap club that has been around for 75 years and lately we have been loosing members literally due to age. And it has been a challenge to bring in new members I think because of the area I live is not really big on shooting. So I had this idea of putting on a fun shoot for a day and make a little money for the club. So I took all of the steel props I have ( poppers, plates, texas star, swingers and clay throwers) and drew up several stages. Well it was a huge success I mean these guys have never shot anything like this before. I have trip wires hooked up to poppers and such that activate clay birds and rabbits and teals. So it was such a big success that we did a few more. And last week I did my first one for this year and everyone again had a blast, Now yesterday one of the guys from the club comes up to me and says that if anyone gets hurt during one of these things that I run using all of my props I will get my ass sued off. Well now its not anymore fun for me so my question is how much of my ass is on the line if someone gets hurt. All I am trying to do is keep our club going and having a little fun in the process.
  2. not sure if this topic fits here but I am in the market to purchase a Texas star and I am looking for opinions and or reviews of what company produces the best one as far as action and ease of resetting. Also it will mostly be shot with shotgun only using bird shot.

  4. I figured this might be the best place for this question. I needed some more room so I got a great deal on a used gun safe yesterday. I have my other safe in my basement but this one is to large to fit in the house so it will have to stay in the attached garage. I live in northern Illinois and the garage is not heated so what do I have to do so my guns will not be affected by the temperature changes.
  5. Hey Dan the tube says invector standard not plus so that should be ok right
  6. I have an FN SLP Mark I with a 22 inch barrel. Can that take a FN Standard Invector extended choke tube also I am replacing the red piston that came with the gun and installing a new browning universal gold piston. The old red piston is really fouled bad with carbon so what is the best way to clean that and with what. Thanks in advance
  7. Have the stages for the 2018 Wisconsin sectional match been posted anywhere

  9. I have a couple of 42 inch poppers and I just ordered a couple of clay bird flippers for them and I was wondering what the minimum distance is for shooting them with 7 1/2 bird shot

    92fs

I have a Beretta 92fs stainless that was made in Itialy that I picked up probably 20 years ago and I am trying to find out what it would be worth. Anyone have any figures on it thanks
  11. I need a qualified person to install a flat STI trigger installed on my 2011. I am in the Libertyville area which is north of Chicago.
  12. I have always reloaded only zero 147 gr hp for my 9mm. But I won 500 lbejiheads 138 grains RN BB. Size .356 inches. For my 147s I use VV N320 3.4 gr. And I load them long also. So what I would like to know if anyone has any loads for these blue coated bullets. I would like to also not load them long either so they will fit in all of my 9 mm. And is there anything I should know that is different about loading these coated bullets

    Doubles

What two chokes do you guys use for shooting doubles and in what barrel top or bottom
  14. How many of the single stacks were made. Mine is a 40 cal
  15. Does anyone else out there have a tactical Advantage in 40 cal made by Dave Dawson.
  16. Just using for plinking. Have a glock 22 a springfield 5" tactical and a beretta storm to shoot them out of
  17. I recently was given 1000 SNS coated 180 GR flat point bullets and WSF powder. In the past I have only loaded either Zero or MG 180 GR jacketed hollow point bullets for my STI pistols for competition using VV N320. I have always loaded them long also from 1.180 to 1.200 for reliability. So now I want to load these for some of my other 40 cal guns that will not take a bullet at that length. So it looks like the OAL for a 180 grain bullet is 1,115 and I am looking for some loads using a coated bullet and WSF powder. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.
  18. I have only reloaded zero 40 cal 180 gr JHP for my STI pistols using VV N320 and loaded them long at 1.180. Now I have 2000 MG. 180 gr JHP that I want to load up using the same powder but I only want an overall length of around 1.126 so they will fit in some of my other guns. So does anyone have a load for this combination or should I switch powder.
  19. Thanks for all the info guys I think I will dump the powder and play it safe
  20. I have a different kind of question about powder. I have three dillon presses one for loading 40 one for loading 9mm and one for loading 45. I have finally used up-all my 45s so I need to load a bunch more. However I have not used the 45 press in probably 3 years and there has been powder sitting in the powder measure for all that tome. The lid has been on it and it has been covered but do you think the powder has gone bad. Should i just be safe and throw the powder out and start fresh.
  21. Is anyone using CFE 223 powder with a 55 gr winchester FMJBT. If so what type a load are you using
  22. anybody have any pics of the shirts or the company onfo on who is selling them
  23. My cases are all trimmed to 1.757 maybe a couple at 1.754 is this alright or should I trim them all to 1.750. I am using a RCBS seating die that is stamped 223 rem seat 13. Also I picked up some CFE 223 powder and some Winchester 55 GR FMJBT bullets. Any load data anybody wants to share
  24. so now I am going to trim the cases and in the manual it says OAL 1.760 but I have been told to trim to 1.750. What do you trim yours to
