I bought a M&P pro nine and hate it so now its a question do I get a XD 5'25 9mm competition or the Glock 34 gen 4 9mm.

Strictly on caliber alone is one more capable of being more accurate in general than the other?

Lets say you want to start shooting 40 cal instead of 45 in SS division and you have been using a Springfield trophy Match in 45. Is it possible to change the barrel out to a 40. I know they use to make the trophy match in a 40 but they are hard to come by now

Do you have product numbers or model numbers on both brands of holsters. And I checked all around here and everybody only carries blackwawk brand so who on the internet is a good place to go

I have a 9 Pro with a Dawson fiber optic front sight that I just instaled with a fobus holster. The front sight is hanging up on the holster so if anyone else has this sight on their gun what holster are you using.

First time I have ever bought a Smith product and I am afraid it will be the last. They say they wanted to develop a weapon for the military and police and thats why I bought this one. I am using it in a competitive police league and the other guys are getting a look at it and they are not impressed. I would never carry one of there weapons on duty after having a first experience like this. I carry an XD 45 tactical and I am really regretting not just buying one of the new XD 5 25 inch 9mm competition pistols. Oh well live and learn.

Got my pistol back from Smith yesterday and they put a letter inside saying nothing is wrong. Time to put this up for sale maybe and get the new XD

Yea I agree about the feel of the M&P fitting my hand better. I carry a XD 45 tactical on duty and I find it uncomfortable to shoot. I was going to try some different ammo yesterday in a match to see if there was any improvement but I only have a couple of more scores I can throw out so I figured I would just box it up and send it off to Smith instead. Hopefully it will come back grouping better and the problem will be over. Come to think of it I won a XD tactical in 40 cal a few years back and I have never even taken it out of the box its just been sitting in the safe. I guess its just the article I read in NRA magazine saying that the XD can deliever 2 inch groups and none of the other polyimer pistols can't come close to that made me think I made a mistake getting the M&P. If this does not work I will see if the Barsto barrels will deliver any better results. But then the problem is who to get to install it

I need better than 4 inch groups because I use it in a Police pistol league and half of the match is shot at targets 25 yards away resulting in half of my score. I am sending the pistol back to Smith and Wesson next week to have them take a look at it. I was wondering if the performance center could hand fit a barrel for better groups if possible. Also I have heard some talk about Barsto bringing out a new barrel for that gun. I will see how it comes back from Smith and go from there.

Called Smith today and they said for me to send it in they will pick up the shipping

I sent them an e mail describing the problem but I have had no reply from them. How long did it take for them to reply to you or did you call them.

Just thought I put new Dawson sights on the gun and I had to use a little locktite on the rear sight. Would that void any kind of warranty

Im going to try some different ammo first. After that maybe a new storm lake barrel. Also maybe send it out to someone who specializes in M&P pistols. Cause at 25 yards im getting about an 8 to 10 inch group

What kind of a group can i expect at 25 yards with the M&P pro 9. I am use to shooting my STIs but I joined this pistol league and bought the M&P for it.

I have a new pro nine and the gun is real accurate out to 15 yards but after that it is all over the place. I have fired it from a bench rest and had other people fire it also with the same results. I am using S&B 115 grain round nose. I have the Dawson adj sights on it. And it seems to be getting worse the more rounds I put through it instead of better.

I know but do I need to ever get back at it cause if i put some red locktite on the rear sight it may not be that easy to get off

What would be the need to have to remove the rear sight to get to the spring and cap for the Sear disconector. I may have to use a little locktite on the allen screw to hold it in.
